The Death of a General‘ – 5 players

This is a story about a kingdom. A kingdom, not here, but somewhere. Not now, but once. A tragic incident has shattered the fragile peace in the royal palace, already torn by a bitter struggle between the conservative faction led by King Claus II and the revolutionary ideals of Prince Florian: General Balthasar has died. The passing of General Balthasar, a venerable figure cherished for his lifelong service and adored by the people, has cast a deep shadow of mourning over the land.

The involved parties have just gathered. Urgent questions (who, why, and how General Balthasar met his gruesome end?) demand answers. Depending on the truth that emerges, the kingdom may be plunged into deadly turmoil. A storm is coming…

These scenarios are offered in Dutch by default and are suitable for players aged 16 and over. They can also be played in English. If you would like to book an English-language session, please email info@spellenspektakel.nl.

Jubensha background

The game centers around a mysterious murder case, which forms the basis of the story. These stories are typically designed for 4 to 10 players. Each player assumes the role of a specific character. These characters are intertwined with the existing story and have pre-determined backgrounds, personalities, and individual goals. Each character possesses certain knowledge that is crucial to unraveling the mystery, but also harbors secrets they want to keep hidden.

Players follow their character’s script and use hints, conversations, and interrogations to gather more information and uncover the truth. The objective of the game varies for each player: some aim to unmask the murderer, while others may try to conceal their own involvement. The game requires not only sharp observation skills but also the ability to bluff and manipulate.

A key aspect of Jubensha is social interaction. Since the game revolves around conversations and the sharing of information, a dynamic is created where you are constantly interpreting the words and actions of other characters. This makes the game both thrilling and unpredictable.

Jubensha is more than just a game; it’s an immersive experience that challenges players to collaborate, act, and think strategically. The game offers an intense yet entertaining way to spend time with friends or family. Whether you’re a seasoned TTRPG player or new to the genre, Jubensha promises a captivating and unique experience during Spellenspektakel, 8 & 9 November 2025!
