If you were at Spellenspektakel last November, you might have already encountered Math Masters. DutchGames presented this magical and educational board game at our Education Square!
Math Masters combines fun with clever math challenges that invite young and old to discover their mathematical talents. The rules are simple, but the challenge remains: solve math riddles, collect points, and claim the title of Master of Math!
Math Masters makes learning exciting and accessible. It encourages logical thinking, number sense, and strategy: all wrapped up in a colorful, imaginative game universe. Thanks to various difficulty levels, the game is suitable for students who want to practice mental arithmetic, as well as for adults who want to brush up on their skills.
Schuifpret – Rekenen
Math isn’t exactly a favorite subject for many children. That’s why it’s great to practice math in a playful way! For example, with Schuifpret, a fun way to practice math skills.
In Schuifpret, you use various different exercises to slide numbers and symbols from the board into the correct position to solve problems. The unique magnetic sliding system ensures that the numbers and symbols stay in place during play.
Schuifpret was developed in collaboration with teachers, so all exercises align with primary school curricula. The level of the puzzles can be adjusted to the child’s age and group. If there’s a need for an extra challenge, the game offers various options to make it more challenging.

Speaking of language skills, with the game Woordjes Plakken, children get to work with language. Children name the pictures on the cards. They find two words that, when combined, form a new word. The world is a diverse place, and that’s fun, but it can also be challenging at times. The multicultural game Globi-Trotter was developed to help young people with this. Globi-Trotter is a board game for secondary and vocational education (MBO) that encourages students to actively and playfully discuss culture, collaboration, and global citizenship.
In small teams, students work on recognizable situations, dilemmas, and discussion questions about collaborating with people from different cultures. Using cards with situations, statements, and dilemmas, they discuss cultural differences, their own experiences, and how to collaborate effectively with people from different backgrounds. This way, they playfully develop their intercultural and international skills.
The game requires little preparation and is perfectly suited to global citizenship and internationalization within a school. Perfect and easy to implement in the classroom!
Het Smaakspel
Even the very youngest children can find educational games! For example, there’s Het Smaakspel, where children learn all about food and nutrition through play. The game includes tasks that introduce children to various products. By discovering different smells, colors, textures, and flavors, palate development is stimulated. Children who are familiar with more flavors often eat a more varied and therefore healthier diet. This has benefits for now and in the future.
Do the children know which product belongs to which animal? Can they point to the card by the smell? Which products are unfamiliar to them? Het Smaakspel contains 14 easy-to-follow tasks that introduce children to various products. Not only by looking, but also by smelling, feeling, hearing, and tasting!
