Cascadia is a natural area in western North America.
In the game Cascadia, players must create a varied nature reserve that is livable for the various animals of the game. The animals that occur in the area are: grizzly bears, Roosevelt’s wapitis, Chinook salmon, red-tailed hawks and red foxes.
The game consists of different types of tiles, including nature reserve tiles and habitat tiles. With these tiles the players can create their own nature reserve. Certain animals can live on each tile, depending on the type of area depicted. On your turn, you take a combination of tile and animal from the supply and place it in your playing area. When compiling nature reserves, the number of animals and how these animals connect with each other must be taken into account. Different points are awarded for each different form or group size.
The player who has found the perfect balance between animal and nature after twenty rounds can call himself the winner of Cascadia. The number of points each player receives depends on the extent to which you have met the wishes of the animal species and habitats you have created in your playing area.
In addition to the basic game, Cascadia also contains a solo variant. During the solo variant, the rules are adjusted in such a way that the game can be played by one person.
