Intarsia
Design the most valuable parquet floor!
For countless years, the Café de Paris has provided moments of carefree relaxation and wonderful opportunities to catch your breath in a bustling city. Unfortunately, the café has to close for urgent renovations. You have been asked to redesign the valuable parquet floor and embellish it with stylish intarsias. In a competition, you have to prove that you are better at your job than your competitors. If you manage to create the most valuable decorations and make good progress in the meantime, you can earn new tools and lots of points.
Who plays Intarsia?
Intarsia is a building and planning game for people who like to do a lot in a round and find it important that a game looks nice. With the wooden parts, you actually build decorations on your tableau, which ultimately makes the result look beautiful. Because you can score points in many different ways, there are many moments of success. This makes this game suitable for both occasional and advanced players.
How do you play Intarsia?
You get a floor tableau and a hand full of material cards. With these material cards you can build connectors, frames and inner pieces. Every time you build something, you also get some cards back, with which you can continue building. These are less than you pay, so a round eventually ends when you can no longer (or do not want to) build. During a round you can earn points by taking tool tiles if you meet certain conditions. After each round you get points for your connectors. After 3 rounds the game ends and you score points for your built decorations. The player with the most points wins the game.
Variants
The floor boards are double-sided, so you can play the game in 2 ways. On the back you will find planters, which you cannot build over, but for which you can earn bonus points if you include them.
