Let yourself be carried away to a dreamy landscape full of elves and other friendly creatures

In this second game in the series that started with Sea Salt & Paper, the aim is to place your cards in a 3 by 3 grid as cleverly as possible and thus score the most points. You take cards from a central market in turns, so you always ask yourself: what do I need and which cards do I not want to have in my opponents’ tableau?

A nice puzzle game, with illustrations that take you to a dreamy landscape full of elves and other friendly creatures. Pixies plays quickly and is easy to explain. Yet there is a lot of depth to it, more than you might think at first glance. Because you can earn points in several ways, you have to find the balance again and again when choosing new cards. In order to score a lot of points, you sometimes have to sacrifice cards that you have taken earlier: that hurts a bit, but is important for those who ultimately want to become really good at this game.
