Via Gladiola

Via Gladiola is a cooperative game in which you try to complete the Nijmegen 4-day march as a group. The game consists of 4 rounds (the 4 days) where it becomes increasingly difficult to complete the day’s walk each day. Will you make it to the end?

Each day (game round) each player receives a hand of running cards. These are cards numbered from kilometer 1 to 50. The players must play a card in turn. The difficulty here is that each card that is played must be higher than the last card played. Try to play as many cards as possible, because at the finish each remaining hand card causes discomfort. If one of the players has accumulated too much discomfort, this person must unfortunately give up and you all lose the game. In order not to let the discomfort increase too much, you will have to use the effects on the running cards cleverly as a group. Also make sure that you do not cause problems for your fellow players: do not run too fast and sometimes take a break, if necessary.
