Pontifex Games

Pontifex Games is an independent game publisher focused on games with a rich historical background.

We began designing our very first board game in 2024, in close collaboration with Bornem Abbey. The result is our first published game: “Abbates,” available since April 2025.

Our mission: Bringing great games to the table – it’s that simple.

If we can generate interest in the fantastic heritage found all over the world through our games, then our mission will be truly accomplished.

For us, it’s all about bringing people together around the table, playing a game, and discussing the rich history embedded in the game. That’s why we focus on bringing two worlds together: a fun and immersive gaming experience and a captivating lesson in history and art.
